Saying of Wisdom

Sayings of Wisdom (SOWIT)

To promote the positive message, English Department and English Environment Promotion Team (EEPT) adopted the materials supported by the EDB and shared different videos with the students. After watching each of the videos, students were encouraged to finish a worksheet for accumulating scores for the final prize by the end of the school year. Check out one of the videos we created for our students:

K11 MUSEA Art Tour2025-10-08
On 8 October, the English Department organised a trip for 30 S2 students to K11 MUSEA. This excursion helped them connect their learning from "Unit 1: Let's go shopping" to authentic use. The focus of this visit was the artwork exhibited throughout the mall. During the guided art tour, students explored the mall and observed a variety of thought-provoking artworks. They actively engaged in conversations with the guide and shared their own interpretations of the artwork in English. The trip provided meaningful and valuable experience for the students, encouraging both language skills and critical thinking. Here are some reflections from students: 2L Hannah Liu's reflection: My experience with today's K11 tour was very interesting, particularly regarding the artworks and the meaning behind them. Some people might only think their appearance is random, but to me, the artists put real thoughts into it. Some of them might have even been going through hard times but were still able to deliver a message of "never give up", which is something that inspired me the most throughout the whole tour. 2D Miles Yeung After visiting Hong Kong K11 MUSEA, I learned that art and commerce can be blended perfectly, which inspired me to pursue innovation in combining different elements. There are also places where I can learn about art and culture, appreciate artistic creations, participate in handcrafting classes, and experience different food cultures.
Study Tour - Melbourne2025-06-27
After a year of activities and competitions, 20 outstanding students were selected to embark on the highly anticipated study tour to Melbourne, Australia. Accompanying them were Miss Wong WL (teacher-in-charge), Miss Wu YM, Mr. Lau KC and our school principal, Dr. Lo KF, who added great value to the experience. The trip was far more than just sightseeing—students immersed themselves in cultural exchange by visiting St. Bede’s College, a local Lasallian school. Both our students and their Australian counterparts delivered engaging presentations about their respective schools and cultures. We were incredibly proud of our students for showcasing Hong Kong’s vibrant traditions with such confidence and enthusiasm. Beyond the school visit, the itinerary was packed with unforgettable experiences. To name a few: Observing the famously sleepy koalas at Melbourne Zoo, Riding the iconic Puffing Billy train with legs dangling freely from the windows, Reflecting on the devastating impacts of war at the Shrine of Remembrance, Exploring Australia’s rich history and evolution at the Melbourne Museum, Camping at Frank’s Farm, where students designed boomerangs, fed animals, and marveled at Australia’s breathtaking natural beauty. In the evenings, we gathered together to reflect on the day, and the students wrote in their journals. It was a journey filled with learning, adventure, and unforgettable memories.
