2026-03-21Ocean Park Nature Experience Programme
Seventeen of our S1 students recently took part in the Ocean Park Nature Experience Programme, where they explored the fascinating world of the Giant Panda through English. During the programme, students learned about various aspects of pandas — from their biological structure (such as skull shape, types of pandas, and even panda droppings) to their living habits and behaviour. The workshop provided a unique opportunity for students to learn English in an authentic, hands‑on, and interactive environment. Our students were highly engaged throughout the session and made great efforts to express their thoughts and complete the tasks proactively in English. Below are some reflections from the participants: 1S Long  Qi  Luo “Looking up at the sea of Hong Kong from the mountain at Ocean Park, I felt amazed. In the panda pavilion, I was so excited to see those cute and rare pandas. I learned about their digestive system and discovered that pandas find it difficult to digest bamboo and absorb few nutrients. I also learned that pandas have only one stomach, are vegetarian, and live alone.” 1S Li Yu Hong “Gazing at the blue sea and sky from the cable car, I was impressed by the cute and clumsy pandas. The roller coaster was thrilling and exciting! I truly enjoyed the happy moments and understood more about the feeding habits, reproduction, and habitats of different marine animals.” Teacher-in-charge: Ms Alice Wu Accompanying Teacher: Ms Victoria Chan

2026-03-14KEA Learning International – 20th Daily Readers “Read Out Loud” Competition 2026 (Dec–Mar 2026)

All S1 and S2 students were invited to take part in the Read Out Loud competition. Participants chose from texts provided by the organisers and submitted audio recordings to demonstrate their reading skills. Student interest was high and many signed up. Five students were recognised with certificates for their excellent performances.

Notably, one student has been shortlisted for the semi-finals. Among thousands of entrants across Hong Kong, only 35 students were selected as semi-finalists. 2L Liu Tsz Ting was among them — she gave an excellent performance, using expressive body language to bring the text to life. Best of luck to her!

2026-02-06The Animal Photopoetry Creative Challenge at Ocean Park
Each student took photos of different animals, from pudgy panda to furry meerkat, and then paired these photos with original poems. During the poem session, students shared and discussed their work to the group in order to create their poem along with their pictures, expressing their creativity and understanding of the animals. Overall, it was a successful day that not only enriched their artistic skills but also strengthened their connection to wildlife and environmental awareness. 4S Fang Xiu Qi On the morning of the event, I was really excited because I knew we were invited to Hong Kong Ocean Park to take part in various competitions and activities. When I first arrived, I felt a little nervous and uncertain about what the day would involve. After attending a meeting to learn about the activity arrangements, I began the official part of the event with great expectations. Throughout the day, the sound of camera shutters never stopped, as I captured all the impressive moments in photos. The ocean world there was amazing, and the animals were lovely. I couldn’t help but admire the wonders of nature. I’m really glad that I joined this activity. It not only helped me gain more competition experience and improve my English writing skills, but also broadened my horizons and allowed me to see such beautiful scenery.
